Top Five Vegan Spots in Pattaya, Thailand

March 28, 2018

Located around 100km south-east of Bangkok, Pattaya is a small city known for its beaches, shopping malls, 24-hour clubs and of course its infamous Walking Street. Filled with some very convincing Lady Boys, cabaret bars and ping pong shows, Pattaya has some hidden vegan gems that are a must-visit. Despite being known for its entertainment and night-life, the busy city is in close proximity to Koh Lan Island, a small yet beautiful destination. Spend your days on scooters exploring the island before heading back to the mainland to find a pad thai and mango sticky rice followed by a foot massage. Here are five great vegan spots find whilst in Pattaya.

1. Five Star J Restaurant

A vegetarian restaurant which serves mostly vegan food with an extensive menu clearly labelled with images. The food is fantastic and a very popular destination for locals and visitors alike. Offering up both Western and Thai cuisine including a tempeh burger and fried glass noodles.

Location: 313/37 Moo 10, South Pattaya Rd

2. Yes Vegan

Pattaya’s first fully vegan restaurant opened this year and offers up an Asian-fusion menu in a cosy and warm atmosphere. Friendly staff and excellent food, the menu includes cakes, Thai and Western dishes. Yes Vegan is located near a quiet beach and also features dormitory rooms so you can be even closer to vegan food.

Location: Thappraya 12, 20150

3. Saras

With over 200 dishes on the menu, it’s difficult to make the right choice. The vegetarian restaurant has a varied selection including Thai and Indian-Chinese foods. Saras flagship counterpart can be found in Bangkok, the restaurant is quite pricey so is definitely a treat whilst in Pattaya.

Location: Royal Garden Plaza, 3rd floor, 218 Moo 10, Beach Rd

4. Tea Partner Vegetarian Indian Restaurant

A delicious veggie restaurant serving up North and Indian food. A moderately priced menu with the option to take away. All vegetarian food, vegan dishes can be ordered on request. The menu includes curry, biryani, rice and rota.

Location: 29 / 12 Moo 9 Pattaya Klang Rd

5. Chotivala

A 100% vegetarian restaurant serving up South and North Indian foods, the menu isn’t clearly labelled so you will need to ask for the vegan options. Reasonably inexpensive food, air conditioning and plenty of seating, if you’re in the mood for some yummy Indian dishes then this is the place for you.

Location: 2nd Rd, across from Central Festival

Despite not being on everyone’s checklist whilst making their way through Thailand, Pattaya has its own quirks that you’ll either find weird or charming or perhaps a little of both. Be sure to check out these vegan options on your next Thailand adventure.
